Voice Lessons

Teaching Studio

“I love helping students achieve their musical goals, whether it’s building their repertoire, preparing for auditions (like choir, musicals, or madrigals), or improving their ensemble singing. I tailor my lessons to fit each student’s unique needs, covering basics like music theory, body mechanics, ear training, good practice habits, and always boosting confidence. My aim is to provide a lasting and effective learning experience that helps students thrive.”

Kristi Kellerman brings over twenty years of experience teaching private voice lessons from her studio on the second floor of Dole Mansion. Passionate about voice instruction, Kristi ensures her students master good body mechanics and develop strong music-reading skills. Since 2017, she has served as the music director for a local middle school’s musical productions and became a co-director in 2023. Kristi delights in guiding students to explore their potential and find their place in the arts. She combines her diverse experiences to lead engaging music and theater audition workshops for all ages. Whether on stage, in her studio, or even singing karaoke in her garage, Kristi loves witnessing her students’ growth and achievements.

In addition to her work in music and stage, Kristi is an aspiring voice-over actor, currently receiving coaching from The Voice Actors Studio in Las Vegas, NV.

Studio Rules

1. Please ensure you arrive on time for your lessons. If you arrive late, the lesson will still end at the scheduled time, as I will be unable to extend it. I will strive to be accommodating and flexible if my schedule allows, but your punctuality is greatly appreciated.

2. Lessons are available in 30, 45, and 60-minute slots, depending on your ability, skill level, and the material you wish to cover. If you have a higher skill level or are interested in exploring more than just basic music theory, you might consider scheduling a longer lesson.

3. Each student may reserve only one time slot per week. If two slots are needed, the student will be charged for both.

4. Payment is due at the start of each lesson, but pre-payment is also accepted. A discount is available for those who pre-pay for the entire month at the beginning of the month.

5. Cancellations require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice prior to the scheduled lesson time. Exceptions will be made for emergencies and illness.

6. Make-up lessons are considered on a case-by-case basis and are not guaranteed, regardless of the reason. To be eligible for a make-up lesson, notice must be given before the start of the scheduled lesson. Please be aware that no refunds will be provided.

7. Please come prepared with your music, a pencil, paper for assignments, and a folder or binder. For online lessons, ensure that any necessary recordings are readily accessible to be played on a second device.

8. While practicing is not required, it is highly encouraged and recommended to make the most of your lesson time and enhance your learning experience.

9. A positive attitude and an open mind are greatly appreciated. I am dedicated to your growth and development as a singer and musician, and my goal is to support you every step of the way.

10. Please be patient—some concepts may seem straightforward but can be challenging to master. I’m always happy to discuss your progress and my teaching methods. My goal is to work with you to ensure that learning music remains a positive and rewarding experience.
